Association BIOM is a non-governmental organisation founded in 2006. Its primary activities are wildlife research and monitoring. Recently, as the organisation has grown, direct conservation actions like habitat restoration have become an increasingly common activity. Other important day to day activities include education, awareness raising and development of volunteering projects in nature conservation, along with monitoring and dev elopment of legislation and policy.
Backed by numerous supporters, members and volunteers, BIOM is dedicated to effective nature conservation. BIOM’s activities are mostly financed through various national and European funds. Cooperation with institutions for the management of protected areas and other stakeholders in Croatia is crucial for BIOM’s projects.
BIOM is the Croatian representative of BirdLife International, a global network of nature protection organisations. Through continuous education of its employees, members, volunteers and all other nature conservation stakeholders, BIOM is constantly raising awareness about nature, its conservation and ecosystem services.
